Jeanne Esther Barbour (nee Adams) slipped quietly away from this life on March 8, 2017. She was 91 years of age. Jeanne was the daughter of Henry Adams and Matilda McCarthy. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Breese F. Barbour, her sister Mary Peace Louise Martin (nee Adams), her brother Henry Adams, and her daughter Susie Skinner (nee Barbour). Jeanne was a tiny dynamo. She graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelors in psychology, having paid her way by working inspecting machine guns during WWII. She was a life resident of Syracuse and a communicant of St. John the Baptist, Our Lady of Solace, Holy Cross, and All Saints Church. She was a eucharistic minister and a devoted member of The Legion of Mary. She loved spending her summers at the family camp on Sandy Pond, and she enjoyed traveling, antiquing, furniture restoration, and painting. She excelled in the art of theorem painting, a complicated early American art form. She was a member of the Onondaga Art Guild.
