I went to ESF with Diana so many years ago, and often thought of her. I was looking through an old datebook and found Paul's birthday marked (I babysat Paul a few times in Syracuse and remember him well as an infant). Further searching online turned up Diana's obituary. I am so sorry to read of her passing. She was a very good friend to have when we were all frazzled grad students. Please accept my condolences.

I will never forget the phone conversation with Diana telling me about her illness - there was not an ounce of self-pity, a shred of 'why me' or fear of impending doom. There was only love expressed for her children surrounding her and a spiritual acceptance that things are divinely guided. Michael, you are the only one of her children that I know so I have been thinking a lot about you - you were very, very lucky to have Diana for your mom and may this lesson stick with you forever as it will for me. She loved you so much. The last time I saw Diana I stopped at Hafner's to see her and she was so happy to be out in the sunshine watering plants and speaking about gardens - I'm picturing her now in the most amazing garden. I'll miss you, Diana, but will hold your memory and your lessons near always. Shawn Meyer

My Deepest Sympathy and Prayers to all of Diana's family.
I met Diana in junior high school and she became a treasured friend. We studied, shopped, stayed at each other houses, got ready for our big school dances and shared our dreams and heart breaks. She was always there for me.
As her family I know you already know these things but I want to say them anyway. Diana was the kindest person I have ever known. She was incredibly smart, patient and fun.
Thank you for all the wonderful memories Diana! God Bless You! Love, Elia

For all the Liliens:
We are thinking of you and of the sadness that you are experiencing.
You have a strong bond with each other, which is a blessing.
Meg and Clare were just with us for a brief visit and shared many memories of the time they had spent with Laura and Christina especially.
May you all find comfort in your own memories of your sister.

Diana always had a smile for everyone and was a joy to work with. She loved the outdoors so maybe she did find the joy of her life working with God's marvelous creations at the Garden Center.
Take comfort in the promise of John 5:28, 29, "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life...."
