Obituary of Francis J. Lepkowski

April 7, 2016 Francis “Frank” Lepkowski Sr. 90 of Syracuse passed away Thursday. A Marine Corp Veteran of WWII, he participated in the invasion of Okinawa from its onset on April 1, 1945 till he was wounded in action on June 16, 1945. After recuperating from his wounds , he was then stationed in Chinatill after the end of the war. Upon returning to the states , he was employed as a carpenter in home construction and later worked for Syracuse China. He ended his working years as letter carrier for the US Postal Service retiring after 20 Yaers. Frank was predeceased by his son, Frank Jr November 2015. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Jane and their children ; John(Roxanne) Lepkowski, Carol(Jamie) Fitch, Michael(Josie) Lepkowski; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren . Funeral Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Sacred Heart Basilica Monday 9:30AM. Burial with Honors will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes. “Semper Fi”
