Obituary of Edith Barclay Morgan
Please share a memory of Edith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Edith Barclay Morgan, 83, passed away at home July 21, 2009 after a brief illness.
She moved with her daughter and son in law over a year ago to Reno, NV after being a lifelong resident of Brewerton, NY. Edie was elated with her new adventure in the sunny west!
Her husband Charles predeceased her in 1972. Together they were the proprietors of Chuck Morgan Chrysler Plymouth, Brewerton. Edith was later employed by Par-K Motors, Fulton, as Office Manager.
She was a graduate of North Syracuse High and CCBI Business School Syracuse.
Edie was an accomplished seamstress and a talented artist. Her family and friends cherish the gifts of her art work. She took early retirement and filled the years with family travels, skiing, gardening and golf. She even made 2 hole in one shots at Northern Pines Golf Course! But what brought her the most joy was time spent with her two children. Edie and Shelly loved to chat away the time over coffee; while she and Mike always made room for ice cream as they vacationed!
Edith had been a member of Marine Bowling Alley, Brewerton Fire Department Auxiliary, Eastern Stars and Disciples Church of Christ.
Edith is survived by her son Charles/Mike (Judy) Morgan of Ukiah, CA, daughter (sidekick) Michele/Shelly (Jim) Van Epps of Reno, NV, granddog Shadow, sister in law Reta Ryder, several nieces, nephews, and was Grrreaat! Aunt Edie to her great nieces and nephews!
She was also predeceased by her brother Robert Barclay and twin sister Roberta Turnbull.
A Memorial Celebration of Edith’s life will be held at the Cicero United Methodist Church, Route 11, Cicero on September 12, 2009 at 11 a.m. Private burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Central Square, NY.
