As I was doing some work on our family tree, I came across Daniel Slater's obituary, and was shocked at how similar he looked to my father. I have now come to find out that he was my uncle. Unfortunately, I never knew him due to a family falling out, which no one can seem to shed any light on? I agree, he looks like a person who bravely served his country, so I am sad that we never knew each other. I never met Daniel Snyder but was moved by the lack of any known survivors and the fact that he served our great country and community. Godspeed to you Mr. Snyder may you be welcomed by God and greeted by a multitude of Angels!

I did not know Dan but reading the obituary, it seems Dan was just a nice person who served his country well and fulfilled that responsibility with an honorable discharge. He seemed able to care for himself and go about his life quietly and with dignity. I did not want his life to go unnoticed for there are many unsung heroes in this world who may give kindness and strength to others just by their very existence and example. I hope Dan will find spiritual fulfillment and rest in peace eternally.
