Obituary of Peter Volcko

Peter Paul Volcko, 71, of Syracuse, NY, passed away on August 26, 2020 in Syracuse, NY. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael – St. Peter Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 2nd, at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Henry Pedzich officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes . Hollis Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements. Pete was born in Syracuse to Paul “Pete” and Stella (Miczan) Volcko on August 5, 1949. He went to high school at Bishop Ludden and graduated in 1967. He had a long career in IT with Jaquith Industries, Coca Cola Bottling, and Tyco/Covidien/Kendall. He enjoyed fishing, golf (real or online with long-time golfing friend Rich Stanczyk), spending time with family and friends, playing guitar, reading and watching Sherlock Holmes, Sci-fi and studying scripture. He grew to like English Premier League Football and was a fan of Manchester City FC. Among the brothers he was affectionately known as “2.0”. Pete is survived by his brothers Paul (Kathy) of Marcellus, NY; Richard of Spring Hill, FL; and Edward (Cyndi) of Ames, IA. He is also survived by nephews Paul (Kelly), Greg, Stephen (Emily), and Jimmy, by nieces Diane (Evan) and Marie, two great-nieces Corinne and Stella, and Emmett, along with many cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul “Pete” and mother, Stella. Memorial donations may be made to St Joseph’s Hospital, Francis House or St. Michael - St. Peter Catholic Church, all located in Syracuse, NY.
