Cooter, you were my brother at CIA. I'll never forget going to see Yellow Man with you or popping over to hang out and listed to the Grateful Dead Hour. You called me "Reggae" and I'll always remember hanging out with you and TC Hession. I just heard the news and it floored me. I'm so sad I didn't reach out...you were always in my thoughts - "I wonder what Cooter's up to these days?". I can't believe I'll never get to see you again. You are one of my favorite people and I'm glad we were friends. I'm a better person for having known you.

Cooter was truly one of a kind! He could be totally relaxed and totally intense at the same time. He had passion and love for SO many things - food, music, friends, family, to name a few - I felt this strongly and clearly, and I really just scratched the surface of "knowing" Cooter. His passing makes me so sad, so I can only imagine the very deep loss felt by those who were closest to him, and my thoughts and best wishes are with them!!
Cooter is in Rock and Roll Heaven - and we all know he's a rock star there!!

OMG Coonan the Barbarian is gone!!! I can't believe such a great man has been taken. Cooter you were the best. Totally lived up to your assigned "Class Clown" status. The Class of 83 will forever be un-funny now. I remember you sauntering into class, dropping your books on the desk and announcing your presence. As if we didn't already know. LOL Mr. & Mrs. Coon, Jen and family please know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of the entire KCS Class of 1983. We have all lost an amazing family member. RIP Jeffrey Porter!!!!!
