Obituary of Pauline Emilia Strage Kotas

May 6, 2013 Pauline Emilia (Glowacki) Strage Kotas 88, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at Crouse Hospital. Born on January 31, 1925, at the age of 4 moved to Tipperary Hill where she lived the rest of her life. Pauline graduated from Central High School, Central City Business Institute, and a member of the Phi Gamma Chi Sorority. Pauline was employed by Easy Washing Machine Corp., Carrier Corp., and in 1958 worked as legal secretary for the Murphy & Glowacki Law Firm. In 1974 became legal secretary for the Hon. Robert Smolinski Solvay Village Justice and also served as Solvay Court Clerk. A life long communicant of The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Pauline was a member of the Rosary Society and I .J. Paderewski Choir. A long time member of the Polish Singers Alliance of America, served as President of the Symfonia Choral Society and Vice President of the Polish Community Home. Pauline was an accomplished pianist and loved singing. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She celebrated life and always loved a party. To know her was to love her, she touched the hearts of all who met her. Pauline is predeceased by her parents John and Emilia Glowacki, two brothers Benjamin and Julius Glowacki and husbands Francis Strage and Adam Kotas. Surviving are her sons, Richard J. (Jo-Anne) Strage of Fort Myers, FL., John E. (Mary) Strage of Camillus, daughters, Paula M. (John) Kowalewski of Warners and Mary Frances Rondinello of Syracuse, eight grandchildren, Hilary Rafuse, Richard Strage Jr., Sara Rose Simon, Rebecca Gould, Kandice Worden, Joseph Kowalewski, Dominique and Dean Rondinello and eight great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held 4 pm to 7 pm, Friday May 10, 2013 at the Hollis Funeral Home, 1105 West Genesee St. Syracuse. Funeral Services: Saturday May 11, 2013 , 12 Noon in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
