John Tovern was a very big influence in my life and many other young boys on the north side of the city of Syracuse when he ran the Ring 56 Boxing Club on East Division St in 1971. I was 14 years old and he and other older men taught us young people many values that I still carry today as a father, husband and attorney. I will always cherish the memories of having you as my trainer and teacher in life. We shall someday meet again. I look forward to that day and I promise to teach the values you taught me and others in the gym to young people as a tribute to your memory. God bless you.

Marie/Derek..very sorry to learn of the passing of your Dad/Grandfather. Although I did not know HIM, personally, I am sure he must have been a great guy. Otherwise, the two of you would not be who you are today.
Please accept my Sympathies at this trying time and know you have many wonderful friends to help you get through it all.
In loving friendship, I remain
Pati Jamieson
