Obituary of Robert E. Sterling

Robert E. Sterling, 84, of Cleveland, NY and was born in Utica NY. Bob passed away Wednesday, August 31st. He graduated from the Herkimer High School class of 1950. He proudly served in the US Army and was honorably discharged. Bob retired from a career in sales. He belonged to the American Legion and was a life member of the American Federation of Musicians, Local 78. With a strong love of music, he was a composer, arranger, and band leader. Bob’s main interests were family, gardening, nature, astronomy, politics, cooking, and food. One of the most memorable things about Bob was his unique ability to passionately enjoy life in all capacities! He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen; son, Karl (Tammy) Sterling in Baldwinsville, NY, daughter Robin (Tim) Giselbach in Duncanville, TX, grandchildren Nick (Beth) Sterling, Charley Rae Giselbach, Ashley Sterling, TJ Giselbach, niece Pamela Kelly of Westfield, NJ, and several cousins. A private memorial service will be held at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Association for the Blind.
