Richard E. "Suitcase" Bain Obituary

March 24, 2013 Richard E. Bain 84 of Syracuse passed away at home with his family by his side. Richard was employed 44 years with New York Central, Penn Central and Conrail, he retired 1992 as an Amtrak Passenger Conductor and was known as “Suitcase” by his fellow Railroaders. After his retirement, Richard worked at his daughter Roberta’s business, Plaza Discount Liquors in Cortland. He was a member of Onondaga Lodge # 802 F. & A.M. East Syracuse. Richard was predeceased by his twin daughters, Jean and Jeanette. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose; 2 daughters, Rebecca (Anthony Zizzi) Bain, Roberta (Jackie Acevado) Bain and his beloved rescue dog, Sammy Calling Hours: Wednesday 4 to 7PM Hollis Funeral Home 1105 West Genesee Street Syracuse.
