Amanda, you were an amazing sister, not biological, but you've always held a special spot in my heart, a place where only sisters dwell. You gave me inspiration and told me to enjoy life, that me being sick was only a tiny portion of my life, and would never define me as a person. A said "ditto" because that's how two foster sisters who came from the same town spoke, our own little sisterhood. You were and will always be loved by many, we both learned that being born into the same family does NOT make you family. Family is when you know you can make that call to in the middle of the night to someone you haven't spoken to in years, but with just a simple "hi" you know something's wrong and pick up where you left off. Family is knowing that no matter what you are going through you still will listen and feel or empathize with someone else instantly. Family is you Amanda, a special woman who grew up in Iowa but found her true home in New York with her husband and her family and friends. I will always love you as if you were a sister who was born just for me to call MY SISTER! See you again in a place where there is no pain and you are free of constant physical burden. Love you Always! You are forever close to my heart!

We are so sorry to hear of Amanda's passing. What a shock, We were hoping that she was defeating cancer. Amanda was such a loving person and she will be missed.
