Obituary of Patricia A. Card

Patricia A. Card, 63, of Westvale died Tuesday at Upstate University Hospital after a tough and courageous 28 month battle with Stage 4 Breast Cancer surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born in Louisville, KY and grew up in Syracuse from the age of 4. Pat graduated from Westhill High School and attended Powelson Business School. Pat had various jobs where she touched the lives of many people. She was most recently the Practice Manger of CNY Physical Therapy & Aquatic Centers from 2007 until April 2015. Those who met and knew Pat were immediately drawn to her sweet, kind and mothering nature. Pat’s greatest love in life was spending time and talking with her family and friends. Her greatest accomplishment was her four wonderful children. She was also devoted to and deeply loved her three grandchildren. She loved her trips to the Thousand Islands, Cape Cod, and the Casino. She also enjoyed just going for a ride in the car. She loved hosting all the holidays and everyone was always welcome. Pat was known for her delicious cooking and baking, especially her homemade pies. Patricia was predeceased by her parents William Kenneth Karow and Anne Stewart Karow. She is survived by her one true love Raymond “Dick” Card; her four children Jeffrey, Kevin, Jennifer (Kevin) Couse, and Shannan; her three grandchildren Hunter, Nathan, and Aaden; and her beloved dog Gus. The family would like to thank her wonderful oncologist Dr. Ajeet Gajra, Tami Harpster, PA, her loving nurses Stephanie and Chelsea and the rest of the staff at University Hematology/Oncology at The Hill Medical Center. We would also like to thank all the wonderful doctors and nurses that have been a part of her care over the past 2+ years. A special thanks to Beth Baldwin for being there for her and our family from the initial diagnosis until the end of her fight. Pat wanted no services but would instead like for you to reflect on your memories and times with her and share them with others. We will love her and miss her.
