April 12, 2012 Walter J. Dean, Jr. passed away from this life on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the age of 84. He was born on December 31, 1927 to the late Walter J. Dean, Sr. and Olive Dean in Dickson City PA. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 62 years, Louise Dean (Czech), his daughter Linda Broughton and husband Gary, his son Daniel Dean and wife Patricia, and grandchildren Christopher Dean, Patrick Broughton, Lindsey Broughton, Tyler Dean, and Chelsey Dean. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his sister Elsie Dean, and brothers Thaddeus Dean, and Matthew Dean. Walter was retired from the Town of Geddes Highway Department, and enjoyed boating, fishing and golf. He was a parishioner of The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus where a mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, April 14, 2012. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Food Pantry at Sacred Heart Basilica, 927 Park Ave., Syracuse NY 13204. His spirit will remain with us for the rest of our days
