Obituary of Laura Matera

March 13, 2012 Laura Calo Matera, 89, passed away after a short illness in Pennsylvania on march 13th 2012. Born in Syracuse, she was the daughter of Geralamo and Sarafina (Maggio) Calo. She worked as a Line Supervisor at general Electric for 30 years until her retirement in 1970 and then for several years worked for her nephews, Joe and Michael Romano. Laura was predeceased by her husband, Edward “Red” Matera in 1999, her brother Frank Calo; sister, Duni Speech and sister, Nicky Romano. Laura is survived by her daughter, Linda( John) McNulty of Pennsylvania; her brother, Joseph Calo of New Jersey and her grandchildren Suzie Fairbanks, David Fairbanks, Edward “Tiger” ( Amy) Fairbanks of Syracuse and Lisa Davison of Raleigh, NC.. She was the great grandmother of Stephanie, Joey, Amanda, Laura, Corey, Brendan, DJ, and Kayla; great great grandmother to Miah, Jaycee and Natalie.
