Obituary of Edward Bartosiewicz

October 31, 2008 Edward “Ed Bart” Bartosiewicz, a life long resident of Syracuse, passed away Friday after a long illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years; Virginia (Korowicki) Bartosiewicz; his niece, Carol Rojek and her husband William Todeschini and their daughter Francesca; brother; Leonard (Rhoda) of Cheektowaga, NY and a sister; Emily Pisiak of Wellesley Island and several nieces and nephews. Ed retired in 1984, as a Sergeant, from the Onondaga County Sheriffs Department after 30 years. He was a member of The Sheriff’s Benevolent Association, the St. Louis Society #2517 and Polish National Alliance. Ed was a Navy Veteran of WWII serving in both Theaters of War. Ed was an avid bowler with the senior citizens in Fairmount, Ukrainian Club and Solvay Bowling Center. Calling Hours: Wednesday 4 to 7PM at Hollis Funeral Home. Funeral Services: Thursday 10 AM Hollis Funeral Home and 11 AM in The Basilica of The Sacred Heart of Jesus. Entombment with Full Military Honors will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, DeWitt.
