I am so very sorry for your loss. Shirley was my professor, friend, and mentor through my learning transformation. In and out of class we cried, laughed, and I certainly owe where I am today because of her work at Kent State.
She once gave me the highest honor I could ever hope to have - she called me Kola. To this day I remain humble knowing the full power of the word.

I just heard of Shirley's passing. She will be greatly missed. She adored working with the kids at SCSD and she also talked fondly about her job at the Turning Stone. She was kind, easy to talk to, and quick to smile. Condolences to her family.

I worked with Shirley for a long time at Turning Stone and so enjoyed all our conversations. She was such a caring and thoughtful woman. I will miss her stories and that smile she would have when you knew she was thinking something she didn't want to share. I will remember her as someone who put everyone else first, even in our last conversation and am grateful to all the little craft ideas that she gave me. She will be very sadly missed and I know she is in a much better place. My condolences to her family. We here in "the Cage" were all lucky to have known her.

The last time I saw her was before Christmas. She brought in a huge bowl of candy and in hindsight was so fitting...Shirley was always so thoughtful and sharing.
