Obituary of Helen S. Wixson

October 18, 20111 Helen S. Wixson, 85 of Syracuse passed away Tuesday after a long illness. Helen was employed as a switchboard operator for a longtime at the Hutchings Psychiatric Center, and was an election inspector for many years. Helen was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and volunteered at the Camillus Erie Canal. She is survived by her children, Karen (Arthur) Mayer, Lee (Vickie) Wixson, Sandy (Charles) Vitagliano; 5 grandchildren, Robert Mayer, James Mayer, Justin Wixson, Ashley Wixson, Nicholas Vitagliano; and Great granddaughter, Alexis Lynn Bishop. Visitation: Sunday 5 to 6PM with funeral services following at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church 5402 West Genesee Street, Camillus.
