I would like to express my deepest sympathies to Mrs. Matson's family and friends. Mrs. Matson was my 4th grade teacher at McKinley School the year of 1959/60. Through all these years, I remember her as a very kind and patient person. I used to love when she wore her red tam and cape to school. On her own, she arranged to have a class picture taken on the steps behind the school. I still have this picture. I have thought of her often throughout my life because that year was such a positive one for me.
