Joseph T. Komuda Sr. August 12, 2011 Joseph T. Komuda Sr., 87, of Solvay, passed away Friday at Crouse Hospital. Born in Taberg, New York to Anthony and Evelyn Komuda. Joseph was an air craft assembler and flight instructor of AT6's during World War II stationed at Perrin Field in Sherman, Texas. Following his honorable discharge he received a World War II Victory Medal. After the war, Joseph owned and operated his own masonry company. He was employed 19 years as a boiler operator with Allied Chemical. Never one to retire, upon the closing of Allied, Joseph went to work for his son at CNY Medical Products. He was a communicant of St. Cecelia's Church in Solvay. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He understood the quality of existence in which you live. Through his teachings about life, his family was able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to call him husband and father. Joseph was predeceased by a brother, Charles Komuda; and two sisters, Evelyn Komuda and Mary Pawlikowski. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joanna; eight daughters, Julia (Howard) Baldwin of Memphis, Linda (Rick) Beardsley of Lakeland, Jane of Camillus, Cheryl (John) Waters of Baldwinsville, Sandy Schepp of Fayetteville, Patty (Gene) Cummings of Churchville, Terri (Eric) Cooper of Camillus, Sharie (Russell) Pryce of Solvay; five sons, Joseph Jr. of Solvay, Anthony (Sally) of Camillus, John (Lynn) of Syracuse, Steve (Bonnie) of Preble, Larry (Sherry) of Lakeland; 31 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Calling Hours: Sunday 3 to 6 p.m. at Hollis Funeral Home, 1105 W. Genesee St., Syracuse. Funeral Services: Monday 10 a.m. at Hollis Funeral Home and 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church, Amboy. Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery Lakeland.
