Obituary of Roman Wolanski

Roman Wolanski , 91, of Syracuse died peacefully at Loretto surrounded by his loving family on August 11,2011 Born in Poland, he was a Veteran of WWll and attended School of Forestry there. He fought in the Polish Army in France, under General Sikorski, he was a prisoner of war and was later liberated by the American Army in 1945. He and his family migrated to America in 1951. Roman retired from Crucible. He also was a communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, and enjoyed his beautiful vegetable gardens and nature. He is survived by his wife Wanda (Wojtaszek) of 66 years, two daughters, Lusia (Joe) Brown of San Diego, Tania (Richard) de la Rosa of Warners, and a son, Richard (Anne) Wolanski of Binghamton – four grandchildren, Mark (Lynore) de la Rosa, Tammy (Rick) Green, Krystyn (Mark) Prasarn, ColleenWolanski and four great grandchildren, Chad, Matthew, Dylan and Brandon. Calling Hours: Wednesday, August 17th, 12 to 2 PM with services following at Hollis Funeral Home 1105 West Genesee Street Syracuse. Burial: Sacred Heart cemetery, Lakeland
