Dr Chessar was a wonderful person and I am glad that I met her in 1983 when I was a kid. She was very caring and wanting to help me which she did. She always had that nice look on her face and putting her hands in her pockets on her blazer jacket. Years later when I was working as a mechanic at Burdick Toyota, she brought her car in one day for service and I walked up to her and we talked. She would return several other times for service. I only had heard of her death just a few years ago and I have waited so long to send condolences because I don't know what to say. I left the Syracuse NY area in July 1998 and moved to Florida. I talked with her on the phone a few times after that and exchanged Christmas cards. She was very caring for everyone and I'm sure her kids and grandkids miss her. She talked with me a bit about her kids and also the ski trips she went on and how she loved to ski. I'm glad she lived a fulfilling long life and that is what I want to do. RIP Dr Chessar. You are one of the best doctors I ever had.

To Betty Bowman... It is not an accident that my niece googled her grandmother's obituary this morning, just three short days after your message was posted. She was excited to share with me that a friend of my mother's had reached out.
I am naturally intrigued about your memory of my mother, and have a few stories of my own to share. I even have her Dux medal, and wear it proudly. (It makes for a lovely necklace pendant!!!) I would really appreciate the opportunity to chat with you further.
In the unlikely event that you read this, please be kind enough to email me at rbreslin00@yahoo.com. I will in the meantime make a concerted effort to find you myself.
Thank you,
Rachel

Isobel was in my class at school at Harris Academy in Dundee, Scotland.
She was very clever, especially at the subject of science, and was very pretty and was the most popular girl in class. Just yesterday 19th June 2014, I saw her name engraved on the school notice board as having been Dux in 1946. I myself am 86 years old right now and was visiting the school and saw her name. My name at the time was Betty Ledger.

It was with great sadness that I learned of your mother/grandmother's passing last night. I worked with her at Madison County Mental Health until 2009. She was always willing to collaborate and share her ideas! She frequently shared stories of her adventures outside the clinic, whether it be a ski trip, cruise, or jet-setting somewhere wonderful. I was in awe of her energy and enjoyed working with her very much. Prayers for your family.

I chose the opportunity to meet with Dr. Chessar every week at Madison County until my departure in 2005. Our team had the benefit of her willingness to share her knowledge and experience in mental health for children. She was the one that inspired me to travel when I had the opportunity. She had such courage. I will always be grateful she touched my life. Prayers continue for her and her family.

On behalf of the Corbett family, we would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Adam and all of Isobel's children / grandchildren.
Although we never had the honor of meeting her, it is obvious from many conversations with Adam, that she dedicated her life to helping people and living her life to the fullest.
May she rest in peace..

Dr. Chessar saw my grandson, Joshua Anderson, at Madison County Mental Health for several years. She was a great lady. It has been several years, but he still speaks of her and how kind she was to him and to us, his guardians. Know we are saddened by her passing and send our sympathy to her family.
