Obituary of Gregory Louis Mnick

Gregory Louis "Ralphie" Mnick, 49, passed over on June 25, 2010 after a short illness. Born on Dec. 10, 1960 to Dorothy and the late Felix Mnick, he was a fun-loving life-long fisherman, skier and friend of nature. Mr. Mnick graduated from Christian Brothers Academy and attended Syracuse University. He had his own landscaping business for several years, and was employed as “Mr. Fixit” at St. Rose of Lima Parish in North Syracuse since 1993. He also worked in security and parking at the New York State Fair since his teens. Mr. Mnick was a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus, member of Council 6282, and a member of the K of C Bowling League. In addition to his mother, Greg is survived by siblings Christine “Krysia” of Rochester, Philip (Evelyn) of Syracuse, nephews Derrick (Jennifer), Christian and Jeffrey, great-nephew Parker, aunts Frances Sojka and Jane Kurgan, several loving cousins and a multitude of friends. He also leaves dear friends James “Mickey” McGuire, Bill and Holly Topp, Susan “Sarah” Vorhis and Miss Midnite, his faithful feline. A Memorial Mass in Celebration of Greg’s life will be on Saturday, July 31st at 10 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church in North Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, please remember him with a contribution to the St. Rose of Lima Scholarship Fund or the Charity of your choice.
