Stephen Frank Witaszek, 90 of Fayetteville passed away Thursday with his loving family by his side. Stephen was born on January 30, 1920 in Oswego, New York. He was a communicant of The Basilica of The Sacred Heart of Jesus. He retired as a truck driver after 46 years employment and was a member of Teamsters Local 317 and AARP Local Chapter 243. Stephen was a "very proud" United States Marine Corps Veteran, during WWII he served in the Pacific and participated in action against the Enemy at TARAWA and OKINAWA Stephen is predeceased by his first wife, Sophie and daughter, Gloria. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Esther; daughter, Shirley (Hal) Smith of Michigan; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; stepdaughters, Diane(William) Pirozzi and Patricia DeWolfe; 5 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. Calling Hours: Monday 4 to 7PM at Hollis Funeral Home. Funeral Services: Tuesday 8:30 AM Hollis Funeral Home and 9:30 AM in The Basilica of The Sacred Heart of Jesus. Burial with Military Honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes.
