January 14, 2008 Irene Evelyn Wiecek, 81 of Liverpool passed away Monday, January 14, 2008. Irene was a member of The Basilica of The Sacred Heart of Jesus. In High School, Irene was a champion diver. She also was an avid bowler, loved puzzles and playing cards. The “value of family†was a very important aspect of Irene’s life. Irene is survived by her husband of 59 years, Francis Wiecek; her children, David (Tammy) Wiecek, Diane (John) Lesher, Elaine (William) Walters, Robert Wiecek and Daniel (Sharon) Wiecek, grandchildren; Kimberly (Tim),David, Laura (Luke), Alison, Emily, Daniel, John and Elizabeth, sisters; Frances Bartoszewski and Helen Szczechowiak. Her brother Edward Lojba predeceases Irene. Calling Hours: Thursday 4 to 7pm at Hollis Funeral Home. Funeral Services: Friday 8:30AM at Hollis Funeral Home and 9:30AM in The Basilica of The Sacred Heart of Jesus, Syracuse. Burial: St. Mary’s Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
