December 8, 2009 Fred F. Trytek, 77, passed away December 8, 2009 after a lengthy illness and a happy life. Fred was a life long resident of Syracuse, graduated from Smith Tech and served in the US Navy on the USS Cushing DD 797. He became a Master Mechanic for heavy equipment, specializing in Caterpillar and worked for Syracuse Supply. In his retirement, he also was an honorary employee of his son’s and daughter’s businesses. Fred also was a member of the PLAV, he coached baseball for Geddes and Camillus Little Leagues, he volunteered for the West Genesee Wildcats Marching Band and he was a fantastic husband, father, grandfather and friend. Fred was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Martha Pawlicki Trytek, his brother, Stanley Trytek and his grandson Timothy Terzolo. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lois, his children, Shelly and Edward Terzolo and Thomas and Jacqueline Trytek, his grandchildren, Stephen, Michael, Andrew & Jackie, and Anthony Terzolo and Emily, Caroline and Thomas Trytek and his great-grandchild-to-be, Calvin, sister, Mary (Richard) Pietrowicz, sister-in-law, Anna Trytek, cousin, Sally Pasiuk, devoted friend Donald Dlugolenski and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services for Fred will be at Hollis Funeral Home on Friday, December 11 from 4:00 p.m.—7:00 p.m. and his funeral will be Saturday, December 12, 8:30a.m. Hollis Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Burial will follow at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff, physicians, and nurses at the VA Hospital for their outstanding service to Fred. In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of Fred can be made to VA Medical Center Syracuse, Voluntary Service, 800 Irving Ave, Syracuse, NY 13210 or the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, 927 Park Ave, Syracuse 13204.
