Marv was a good friend. He and my brother, Vito were "Tin men" as in the movie, sold aluminum siding together. He helped me in remodeling my homes with his products and knowledge. He was married to my cousin Delores.A wonderful well natured guy I could never forget.Rest in peace my good man.

Marv was our neighbor these last few years and he invited all the neighborhood children over to visit with him. My children enjoyed going to see Marv very much and will miss him. I am glad we had the honor of getting to know him these last few months. I can tell by the other entries that he has been teaching children through his generosity for years. My condolences to his family.

Dolores Mark and Miles so sad for your loss. I have such wonderful memories and experiences from my childhood that came from The kindness and generosity of "Mr. Botrill" He was a great mentor and left a lifetime impression. Just a few things that come to mind that he taught me.
A pocket knife was a tool, nature was something to enjoy, the value of fun,
work was valuable, no job was to small and no job was to big, the value of a dollar, how to drive a lawn tractor, took me on my first snowmobile and boat ride, he did it for all the neighborhood boy's we where lucky to have him. He was a true gentleman and a sweetheart of a guy.

Dear Miles, Mark, & the entire Bottrill Family,
I am sorry for the lost of your Dad this week.
His impact upon the kids of our neighborhood was very noteworthy. He helped us develop in many ways we would not realize for years to come.
He helped give me a strong work ethic at a young age by putting us to work for an honest wage. A trait that helped me reach the pinnacle of my profession in the Army. He gave us a good appreciation for the outdoors. Whether it was a winter hike to the stone barn, a walk in the woods, or being lakeside. He also helped to show us what having fun was like as a family with invitations for our family to spend time with your family at the camp. Your Mom and Dad have always inspired others.
Their is no greater contribution than the impact left upon others. I am thankful for all he did for me personally. A great American, your Dad.
God bless you and your family during this period.
Rest in Peace Mr. Marvin Bottrill.
Love, Mike

During the past few years, Marv had become a dear friend. He shared my love of music, and generously offered (on many occasions) to provide transportation for me to Oneonta. In the course of our trips, we had many delightful conversations. I'll miss him very much. Phil Klein
