Wladimir Tabuntschikow, 86, of Syracuse, New York, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, August 5th, 2015 at the Van Duyn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. Born near Simferopol in the Crimea, Russia, the son of the late Mikhail and Vera Tabuntschikow, he was an Army Veteran, having served in the 101st Airborne Division. Wladimir retired from Lipe Rollway in Liverpool, NY. as a quality control inspector. Wladimir is survived by his son, Urij, daughter-in-laws, Ingrid and Carol, granddaughter, Ashley, sister-in-law, Stella, nephews Peter and Michael, and nieces Valentina and Kathy. He was predeceased by his wife, Alexandra and son, Victor. There will be a First Panikhida performed–“A prayer service of the parting of the soul from the body” on Sunday, August 9th at 4:00pm and a funeral service on Monday, August 10th at 9:00am, followed by burial at Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Wladimir to St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church, 607 Tecumseh Rd., Jamesville, NY 13078
