Obituary of Roger Leroy Dean

Roger Leroy Dean Jr, 51, passed away on Tuesday July 21, 2015, 1:24 pm at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse NY. He was born on September 26, 1963 in Syracuse, New York to Roger Leroy Dean and Carol Frances (Drahiem) Dean. Roger grew up in Dysart, Iowa. For a short time he served our country as a member of the United Stated Army. As a young adult he moved to Oklahoma, where he met his first wife Sharon Isham; they then moved to Colorado where they were married and lived briefly before moving back to Oklahoma to raise their children. In 1995 he earned his CDL and drove semi-trucks until 2000. Over the years he has held many management positions, most recently Dunkin Donuts of Syracuse. At the time of his death he was self-employed doing home improvement and construction. In 2004 he moved back to Syracuse where he later met Heide. Roger and Heide were married in 2013. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, music, and spending time with his family. He was also an avid animal lover. Roger was preceded in death by his father Roger Leroy Dean; his brother James Samuel Dean; his sister Sheri Lynn Dean; and his infant son Joseph Daniel Dean. Roger is survived by his spouse Heide of Syracuse, New York; his children, Diane, David, Sarah, Carissa, and Joshua from his first marriage to Sharon (Isham) Dean, all of Oklahoma; his mother Carol Kimball of Syracuse NY; his brother Kenneth Leroy Dean of Lilburn GA; his sisters Tina Burke and Carrie Dean of Syracuse NY. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Cameron Dean, Ryan and Reece Corley, Reyanne Howard and Karysn Green, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Friends may visit Wednesday 11:30 AM with funeral services following 12 Noon at Hollis Funeral Home 1105 West Genesee St Syracuse.
