June 10, 2009 Anna A. Vaillancourt, 97 of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday June 10, 2009. Anna was born in Ottawa, Canada on October 29, 1911. Anna was a resident of the near Westside for many years, working as a seamstress for local drycleaners, clergy and neighbors. In her earlier years Anna worked at Syracuse China, hand painting dishes, and Franklin Department Store. In later years Anna was known for her crafts and always looked forward to going to the New York State Fair with her granddaughter, Laurie Barnello. Anna lived at Providence House for many years before moving to Sedgwick Heights. Her family remains grateful to all the thoughtful and caring staff at Sedgwick and The Crossings, in particular her special friend Marsha. Her husband Alfred and most recently her son Roger who passed away in May 2009 predecease Anna She is survived by her children; Diane (Donald) Dutcher, Linda Vaillancourt Walton and Gerald (Mary Ellen) Vaillancourt; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; 3 sisters; Mary Kolodzie, Isabelle Loucks and Lily (Richard) Kennedy; brother, Robert (Bernie) Fredette.
