Dianne Juchimek Obituary

Dianne M. Juchimek,82 of Syracuse NY passed away on November 15th. Born in Schenectady, NY to the late Dr Joseph and Claire Capritta, the eldest of 3 girls. Upon graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School, she attended Smith College, later transferring to the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign where she attained a B.S. degree in Geology. She transferred again to Syracuse University where she received a Master’s Degree in Library Science and where she met her future husband. She went to work at Franklin Moon Library of the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, becoming an Associate Librarian in Technical Services in charge of acquisitions and collection development. Dianne received several awards for services from the college and belonged to a number of Library associations. Dianne retired after 30 years of service. She loved reading, travelling, movies, antiquing and spending time with relatives. Dianne belonged to the Microft Holmes Society of Syracuse and the Syracuse Stamp Club.


Dianne is survived by her husband Vincent Juchimek; sisters, Carolyn (Larry) Bailey, Christine Smith; nephews, Joseph (Robin) Young, Jeremy (Monique) Young; niece, Cameo (Eric) Olson and a number of cousins.


I wish to thank the wonderful Nurses, Doctors and supporting staff at Crouse Hospital 4th Floor South Unit.
