Irene Genevieve Wrobel Obituary

Irene G. Wrobel, 98, of Syracuse passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 18, 2024 at Bishop

Rehabilitation Nursing Center. Born in Syracuse, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and

Victoria Wrobel. She retired from Mead Westvaco in 1984 after many years as a manufacturing

employee and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Basilica.

Irene enjoyed travelling and luncheons with her many friends and will be remembered for her selfless

devotion to her family and pets. She particularly enjoyed hosting holiday gatherings with her family.

She is survived by her nieces Dorothy Howe of Westvale, Virginia Szymanoski of Syracuse, and Catherine

Wrobel of Westvale, and nephew Joseph Wrobel(Dorianne) of Liverpool as well as several great nieces

and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Stella Szymanoski and Jane Wrobel, and

brother John Wrobel.

In keeping with Irene’s wishes, funeral services will be private.
