Obituary of Alfred M Dubaniewicz
Alfred Michael Dubaniewicz, 91, of Syracuse, NY passed away on August 12, 2024, from natural causes.
Alfred was born on February 11, 1933, to Casimir and Josephine in Queens, NY. Growing up in East New York, Brooklyn, Alfred graduated from Franklin K. Lane High School in 1951, then attended Brooklyn College.
From 1953 - 1955, Alfred served in the US Army as Chaplain’s Assistant at Fort Story, Virginia. During his service, he was enrolled in the RCA Institute, being trained as an electronics technician. Alfred continued his service in the US Army Reserve until 1961. His experience in electronics led to a job at General Electric in Syracuse, kickstarting a twenty-five plus year career in which he worked in the departments of television tube testing & development, then heavy military.
In 1963, Alfred met his wife Carolyn as members of the I.J. Paderewski Choir of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Syracuse, being introduced by Carolyn’s uncle Henry Stryminski. They were married on May 28, 1966, and went on to have one child, Michael.
Later, Alfred retired and spent his time fishing and cooking. He was also a charter member of Knights of Columbus, Chapter 6282.
Alfred was predeceased by his sister Irene Tauken. He is survived by his wife Carolyn, son Michael, his daughter-in-law Maryna, granddaughter Alexandra, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: Mass of Christian Burial - Friday, 10 am in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Ave., Syracuse. Burial With Honors, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes.
