Obituary of Leroy Thornton

Leroy Thornton passed away on January 19, 2024. He was born in Syracuse, New York. He was the son of the late Judson and Sadie Thornton. He attended Syracuse City Schools. He worked construction and preformed jobs as a carpenter. 

His laughter was loud and contagious. He was also known to enjoy a good meal. If you were cooking, he was there. He always had a story to tell or a memory to recount. 

He is survived by his children. Donnell ( ShaSha) Thornton, Leroynia Stewart of Syracuse, New York. Sheray ( Emanuel) Hall of  Baltimore, MD. Hennessey Thornton, Courtney Moore, and Yorel ( Derrick) Thomas all of Syracuse, New York. Lots of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His siblings, Linda Finch, Maria Smith, Gloria River, Ira Dean Trotman of Syracuse, New York, Lorenzo (Laura) Thornton of Murrieta, CA, Diane Thornton, Anthony Thornton, Judson (JT) Watkins, of Syracuse, New York and Damien Thornton of Pottstown, PA. One aunt Clara Scott of Syracuse, New York. A host of nieces,  nephews, cousins, other family and friends. He was predeceased by two sisters Geanna Mae Thornton,  Jimmie Mae Watkins and one brother Richard Fraizer all of Syracuse, New York.

The services will be at Living Waters Church of God and Christ on January 29, 2024 from 10am-Noon. With a private burial to follow.
