Lawrence W. Ubowski (Chip), 74, passed away after a long illness on December 23rd at home surrounded by loved ones.  He was the husband of Stephanie.  They shared 51 years of marriage together.

Born in Syracuse, New York, he was the son of William and Veronica Ubowski.

He graduated from Onondaga Community College.  He was employed at Prestolight before going on to work at the Carrier Corporation as a Master Tool and Die Maker for 39 years.

He enjoyed fishing, puttering around the house, making and fixing things, and spending time with his family.  He was always the first to say, “I’ll help” and never asked for help in return.  He was a genuine, wonderful person. Chip will be missed by his loving family and all those that loved him.

He is survived by his spouse Stephanie (Sophie), as well as his children Jason and Kristin.  He was predeceased by his parents and brother Bill.

Calling hours will be held Thursday December 28th from 4-6 pm at Hollis Funeral Home 1105 W Genesee Street, Syracuse.  The funeral service will be held Friday December 29th at 9:30 am at Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (927 Park Ave, Syracuse).  Chip will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
