Janet Carr Obituary

Janet Rae (Howard) Carr passed away peacefully in Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, NY, on November 30,2023, with family members by her side.


 


Janet was born in The House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, NY, December 11, 1956, to Hawley (Ray) and Isabelle Cheever Howard. She


graduated from  Lyme Central School, Chaumont, in 1975 and from the State University of New York at Potsdam, with a BA in psychology, in1991.


She worked as a social worker in Albany, NY. Visually impaired since childhood, she enjoyed books on tape and music. She played the guitar and


keyboard instruments.


 


Janet is survived by her mother, Isabelle Howard; two children, Hawley William Carr and Gwendolyn (Carr) Calderon; three grandchildren, Kyla and Arete Calderon


and Raylyn Carr; one sister, Marilyn (David) Peters; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Hawley (Ray) Howard and her husband,


William Carr.


 


Her funeral will be held in late spring, 2024.
