Caroline (Anderson) West of Syracuse, New York stepped into eternal life on August 9 after recent illness; she is reconnected with her brothers Kenneth and Hoyt Anderson, her son Andrew West, and her cousin Bonnie Whipple.
Born on October 22, 1948, Caroline was a graduate of Charles W. Baker High School in Baldwinsville. A dedicated mother, she additionally served the SCSD as school secretary spanning decades – at the Expeditionary Learning and Levy middle schools, Central Office, and McCarthy – the latter of these where she was most known.
Much of Caroline’s time among then and since involved Syracuse’s revitalization as part of neighborhood organizations too numerous to recall. She took special delight in Friends of Wildlife (F.O.W.L.) non-profit efforts for Webster Pond in the Valley.
She is survived by children, grandchildren, and a bigger flock both chosen and God-granted. Special gratitude is directed toward her cousin Sherry Bell for her time, support, company, and memories with and of Caroline over the years.
Family of Caroline’s will be in contact with loved ones regarding memorial plans to follow. They ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Webster Pond.
