Mitchell "Mike" Charles Edwards, 76, passed away on May 21, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 13, 1947, to Mitchell P and Virginia Edwards. He grew up in Syracuse, where he graduated from Cathedral High School. It was there that he met his future bride, Mary Steves, and they were happily married for 52 years. He briefly attended Onondaga Community College before enlisting in the Marine Corps in 1967. When he came home from Vietnam, he continued his education and received his Associate Degree. 

He worked as a supervisor in construction services for Niagara Mohawk, and he retired from Constellation Energy. He enjoyed spending time with his family at their camp on Black Lake and spending winters in Florida with his wife and friends. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid reader. You could often find him with a book. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, and he was a member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife Mary Edwards; his three sons, Mitchell W (Charlene), Matthew S (Monica), and Michael P; two daughters, April Edwards Thorpe (Michael) and Meghan Edwards Welch; two brothers, Robert (Julie) and Jeffery (Laurie) Edwards; a sister Antoinette Edwards; and thirteen grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Mitchell and Virginia as well as brothers Patrick, Timothy and Dennis.

Visitation on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 4 p.m. - 7p.m and The Funeral Services  Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 10:30 a.m.  both will be held in the church at St. Charles Borromeo, 417 South Orchard Road, Syracuse, NY.
