Anthony M "Pop" Boronczyk, 92, husband of the late Eleanor Boronczyk, passed away Tuesday after a short illness. Born on May 27, 1930 in Trojanowice, a small village in Poland, he was the son of Anthony and Karolina Boronczyk. His family immigrated to the US after World War II and he served in the US Army in the early 1950's. 

Anthony married Eleanor on January 29, 1955 at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. He is survived by sons Michael and his wife Connie, Edward and wife Lisa, Walter, Anthony "Al" and wife Elizabeth, John and wife Patricia, Joseph and wife Deborah; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Hollis Funeral Home, 1105 West Genesee St., Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 AM in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, 927 Park Ave, Syracuse. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, 95 Rosita St, Syracuse.
