Obituary of Barbara Blok

Hello Dolly . . . Gone but not forgotten

Barbara Dietrich Blok, 83, passed away on February 19,2023 at Crouse Hospital. She was the wife of Val Blok. They shared 30 years together and were married on July 15th, 2001. Born in Port Chester, NY, she was the daughter of Isabelle and Stephan Dietrich She graduated from Port Chester High School in 1956. She attended Juilliard School of music, Onondaga Community College 1975 and Syracuse University in 1979. She was employed at Interfaith Works. Barbara was a lead performer in numerous plays in the northeast. Some of her favorites were Hello Dolly, Best Little Whore House in Texas and Mame. She sang with Sonny Farrar throughout her time in Syracuse. She cherished all animals and her much loved cats and dogs thru the years, from her shepherd to Lilo from Helping Hounds. Barbara is survived by her husband Val and daughter Stephanie Blok, son Val Conte Blok and wife Jenna with their children Ronan and Addison of Canada.
