Obituary of Michael G. Davis

August 20, 2014 Michael "Mike" G. Davis, lifetime resident of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday August 20, 2014 at the age of 68--starting his journey to The Creator. He was a wonderful & special son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be terribly missed by all. Mike was an enrolled member of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe @ Akwesasne, New York. He retired from the Syracuse School District; and worked construction for most of his life with Local Union 433. Mike avidly enjoyed music, reading, the NY Yankees and SU Basketball; but he mostly loved his family and lifelong friends. Mike was predeceased by his parents Helen & Daniel Davis; brothers Daniel, Robert & Bernard; and sisters Barbara & Eleanor . He is survived by his sister Carol G. (Richard) Petit of Tully; brother William B. Davis of Liverpool; brother James D. (Bonnie) Davis of Syracuse; and many nieces and nephews, family & friends. There are no calling hours. A memorial service in Mike's honor will be held at a later date. Donations or contributions may be made to the Food Bank of Central New York. Mike's family would like to thank Upstate University Hospital and the staff of 6A 6106-F, for their wonderful care for Mike and for their kindness towards our family. Special thanks to (nephew) Chuck & Winona Davis & family for their long-term love for and care of "Unc".
