Obituary of Agnes Hazelgrove
On November 1, 2022, Agnes Hazelgrove got her wings and went to walk with the angels. She was 96 years old. She resided at Malta House in North Syracuse and her sharp wit and humor touched everyone she came into contact with.
Agnes was an amazing woman. She was introduced to her future husband by her best friend. After marrying him, she became a proud homemaker who stayed home to raise their four children. At the age of 52 she went back to school and got her college degree. She was an innovator who was way before her time. She went organic before it was cool, always had her own garden and believed in composting. She never used a microwave believing that radiating food was poison for the body. She learned as much as she could about using herbs and roots and took amazing care of herself. She truly loved nature and tried to tell everyone that crossed her path to take care of themselves by eating right. She was an avid reader of health food and nature books. She also had a flair for sewing, knitting and quilting.
Agnes is survived by her sons Andrew and Peter (Felice) and three grandchildren Matthew (Colleen), Jennifer (Ethan) and Chelsea. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Paul Hazelgrove, and her daughters, Arlene (John) Butler, and Rosemary (Richard) Catalone.
