Obituary of Virginia Kocienski

Virginia Kocienski,  91 years of age, passed away on 10/26/22 at Loretto Nursing Home.

She was the Wife of the late Edward P (Shorty) Kocienski. They shared 34 years of marriage together before he passed away on December 16, 1985.

 

 

She was born in Euclid, New York. At the age of 13, she moved to the Syracuse New York area where she lived the rest of her life.

Virginia was the Daughter of  Burton and Elizabeth(Vault) Duell. She Graduated from Central High school.

She worked as a Day Care Mother for The Onondaga County Social Services for over 30 Years.

 

She was a Member of  St. Cecilia’s Parish in Solvay New york. She enjoyed spending time with her sister Mary going out to eat, shopping and going to the garage sales on the weekends. She also looked forward to each spring to watch the Yankees games. Go Yankees!

 

She is Survived by her Son, Richard (Rick) E. Kocienski(Linda); Grandaughter, Erin E. McAndrew(Sean); Her Sister, Mary Mahar and  Many Nieces and Nephews.

 

Funeral Services: Mass of Chritian Burial will be held Saturday 10/29/22 at 10:00 A.M.. at St. Cecilia's Church at 1001 Woods Road, Solvay New York 13209. 

 

Following the Service at St. Cecilia's Church, there will be a luncheon at the Syracuse Polish Home at 915 Park Ave. Syracuse New York 13204

 

Graveside services will be private to immediate family per Virginia's wishes.

 

 

In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made " In Memory of Virginia Kocienski"  to Lorretto Foundation 700 E Brighton Avenue Syracuse New York 13205 or ONLINE www.lorettocny.org or to a charity of your choice.
