Obituary of Jacqueline Gloska

August 10, 2014 Jacqueline "Jackie" (Hanus) Gloska peacefully left our side the evening of August 10th, 2014. She was born in 1939, in Syracuse, NY to the late Violet (Webb) and John Hanus. She graduated from St. Lucy’s Academy and retired from Time Warner Cable. She loved dancing, shopping, bowling, roller skating and playing cards with her family and friends. She had fond memories of our camp(s) on Oneida Lake during the summer’s sun bathing and fishing. In her quiet time she cooked and read a good book. She was a past President of the Ladies Auxiliary and a member of MOCA, both out of the VFW Post 7290. She also belonged to the American Legion Post 787 and South Shore Association of Oneida Lake Auxiliaries. She was a communicant of The Basilica Of The Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Polish Home. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John “Jack” Gloska, her sisters, Betty Smith, Pansy Jackson and Rose Kolonko. She is survived by her children, Carolyn (Vic) Sayko, Allyn Egenhofer, Gary (Judy) Gloska, Edward (Elizabeth) Gloska and Dorothy (Paul) McCabe; and her loving grandchildren Jerry, Danielle, David, John, Jackie, Ryan, Garrett, Victoria and Gillian she so adored. Her siblings Beatrice Kotash, Dorothy Verrette, June Glaski, John Hanus and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 4-7pm, Monday Hollis Funeral Home 1105 W. Genesee St Syracuse Funeral Services will be at 9:30am, Tuesday in The Basilica of The Sacred Heart Church Burial: Assumption Cemetery.
