Obituary of Maria Mazur

Maria Mazur, 85, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 7, 2022 to meet her husband, Feliks who went to the Lord on March 12, 2022.  Born in Jawornik, Poland, on April 1, 1937, she was the daughter of Wladyslaw and Katarzyna Mikulec Jamrozik.

Maria loved to read and teach. She earned her Education Degree in   Poland and taught elementary education for many years before she and her son immigrated to the United States in 1962 to join her husband in Syracuse, NY.  From there she taught Polish classes at Sacred Heart School for many years. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling, gathering with family/friends and above all spending time with her grandchildren.

Maria was a communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a 30 year member of the Polonez Choir, Sacred Heart Seniors and the Polish Community Home.

Maria is predeceased by her husband, Feliks and daughter, Virginia Mazur.  She is survived by her children, George Mazur, Christina (Steve) Tone, five grandchildren, Joshua(Stephanie) Mazur, Mikayla (Joshua) Nelson, Alexander Tone, Samantha Tone and Nathan Mazur-Christaldi.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 11, at 9:30 am at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus; 927 Park Ave, Syracuse.  Burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes.
