Obituary of James Francis

James L. Francis, 73, passed away suddenly on March 2, 2022. Meg, his wife of almost 50 years was at his side.

Born in Henderson, NC, Jimmy was the son of Clint Francis and Lillian Faulkner and his much loved stepmother, Shirley Francis. He attended Syracuse City Schools.

Jimmy joined the Marine Corps and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He was employed by Local 633 for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Meg and his five daughters, Rebecca Francis-Chavis (Devin), Erin Francis, Katie Easton (Justin), Molly Lutwin (Adam) and Kelly Carroll (John). His 12 beloved grandchildren, Liam, Aydan, Eoghan, James, Mary Grace, George, Katherine, Henry, Elliot, Mae, Birdie and Seamus were the loves of his life.

Jimmy is survived by his siblings, Clinton Francis Jr., Brenda Woodlief, Theresa Hardin, Debi Reifsnyder, Pat Kawryga, Bill Francis, Cathy Mittag and many nieces and nephews.

Jimmy Francis loved his family above all else. He never said no to friends and family. He was honest, unique, and the most dependable human ever. His life is a celebration of love and hard work.

The graveside services will be private and held at a later date.

Jimmy’s family will receive friends on Thursday, March 10th 2022 from 4-6 PM at Hollis Funeral Home, 1105 West Genesee St., Syracuse, NY 13204.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Semper Fi & America’s Fund (www.semperfifund.org) in Jimmy’s name would be greatly appreciated.
