Obituary of Shirley Rutkowski

Sr. Shirley Rutkowski, 85 of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, March 2^nd.  Shirley was born in Marcellus NY to her late parents, Clarence and Pauline (Cronk) Godfrey. In 1999 Shirley joined the Dominican Monastery of The Perpetual Rosary in Syracuse which closed in 2019. She was the Director of Religious Education at Sacred Heart Basilica. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Richard and son, Richie. She is survived by her son, David Rutkowski; grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Olivia, Emma and Adam ”AJ”; sisters, Ellen Cowburn, Sharon (John) Konrad, Roxanne Godfrey and Carolyn; brother, John(Linda) Godfrey, nieces and nephews.n

Funeral Services: Thursday 9:30 AM in The Basilica of The Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Entombment: St Mary’s Mausoleum, DeWitt
