Obituary of Tami Wilson

Please share a memory of Tami to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Tami Wilson, age 49, passed away suddenly at home August 1st from as yet unknown causes. Born in Mt. Kisco, NY on March 19, 1972 to Robert Wilson and Linda Ward Ruckdeschel, Tami graduated from Bryant and Stratton with an A.A.S. in in Human Resources Management.  She also held a CNA certificate.  Tami previously worked in a variety of capacities at Sunnyside Nursing Home, Bellavia Taxi, Suburban Transport and Franco’s Pizzeria among others.

Tami enjoyed beach days at Sandy Island and Fair Haven with her family, as well as playing Bingo at the casinos, and attending concerts with her stepfather, David, and friends.  She loved cooking, often assisting her Mom and friends with catering special events, and especially baking with her granddaughters.  She touched so many lives with her kind and caring nature.  She was never afraid to lend a hand and a heart when it was needed, regardless of the hour of the day, in spite of her own medical issues.  She was the “go to woman” and gave her all to all that knew her.  Her parents, son, and granddaughters were her life.

Tami is survived by Her mother Linda Ruckdeschel her friend and stepfather, David Ruckdeschel, her son Kenet Staten, Jr. and his wife, Destiny, her beloved granddaughters, Layla, A’miyah and Sophia, her father, Robert Wilson and his wife Carla, and siblings Robert Wilson, Jr. and Maria Wilson-Ballenger, as well as long-time friends, Jana Young and Kenet Staten, Sr.

Hollis Funeral Home handled Tami's cremation.
