Margaret Betty Myhill, 83, of Manlius, New York, born in Nottingham, England, passed away on Sunday March 30, 2014 at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. Margaret was the daughter of the late Stuart and Dora Paterson. She was a lifelong friend and devoted wife to her husband, Norton Alfred Myhill. They were married in Mansfield, England in 1957, and raised their family while living in The Hague, Netherlands, Los Angeles, New Orleans and Calgary, Canada before settling in Houston, Texas in 1975. She became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1993, and retired in Austin, Texas in 1997. Margaret and Norton moved to Manlius in 2010, which reminded her fondly of England, to live with their son, William Norton Myhill, and his family. Margaret was predeceased by her daughter Elizabeth Anne Myhill (age 49) of Silver Spring, Maryland. She is survived by her husband Norton, her brother Maxwell Paterson of Inverurie, Scotland, and her step-sister Effie Astwood of Ravenshead, England. Margaret will be greatly missed by her family including her son William and daughter-in-law Laurie Myhill of Manlius, and her son-in-law David Williams of Silver Spring, her cousins Christine Rasberry of Kings Lynn, England and Jill Tack of Northampton, England, her nieces Deborah, Katherine, Helen, Sally and her nephew Richard. She also will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Samuel, Simon, Graham, Oliver, and Hope. Margaret chose to donate her body to science through the Anatomical Gift Program at Upstate Medical University. In lieu of flowers, small donations are welcome and can be sent to the Margaret Myhill Trust, which shall be used for a charitable purpose to be determined and announced at a memorial gathering tentatively planned for May 2014. To make a donation, make a check payable to “Margaret B. Myhill 1996 Trust”, and mail to: Bank of America, 6081 E. Genesee St, Fayetteville, NY 13066.
