Obituary of Elizabeth May Gordon

Elizabeth May Gordon born on July 24^th of 1924 has passed away on May 17^th, 2021 at the age of 96 in Syracuse NY.  Whether you called her Elizabeth, Liz, Kit, Mom, or Grandma, you knew that she had a big heart for all.  Liz is survived by a son, Tim Gordon, two stepdaughters, Rhonda Aydlett (Gary)and Maureen Erickson, 6 grandchildren, Clayton Gordon, Ben Aydlett (Stephanie), Lindsay McCloud (Robert), Jess McDonald, Andrew Erickson (Stasya), Johanna Erickson and five great grandchildren, Sev and Milo Erickson, Zion McCloud, Madison and Cannon McDonald.  Liz worked as a senior companion at Van Duyn in Syracuse, NY, worked with seniors at an organization supporting Alzheimer’s patients, and had many other work positions over the years.  She was a hard worker who was gifted in socially connecting to those she supported in her positions.  Liz had a great affinity for the pets which she cared for over the years including, Tippy and Matt and supported animal protection.  She loved British comedies and mysteries. Liz loved her mother, Veleta Orcutt deeply.  She was an avid reader, reading up to 5 or more novels a week, Liz could sing as well as any well-known crooner, and she was intelligent and witty.  Liz enjoyed cooking for her family making items such as tomato soup cake, cranberry cake pie, Salisbury steak and many other delights of her era.  We all share a toast of thankfulness and wonder as Elizabeth, Liz, Kit, Mom, Grandma journeys on. 

There will be a private family service.
